I HAD DRAWN a quick pencil sketch of famous Brit Artist Damien Hirst and wanted to turn it into a painting. At the time, I had two long hardboard box canvases that I didn’t know what to with. Put together, they made the perfect size and shape for Damien’s face so I decided to paint his portrait onto the two canvases. This seemed most appropriate as it results in his face being cut in two like his famous shark and cow installations. Added to this, the background of Hirst-like spots completes the painting.
